​What are the wages on board cruise ships?
​

Offshore salaries are higher than what you would earn ashore with your qualification and experience.   It is very rewarding. An entry level can earn US $50,000 – US $80,000 per annum and this only involves working 6 months out of the year. Other technical and professional positions can make US $70,000 – US $220,000 per annum. Most companies provides major medical insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, profit sharing and 401 K programs.

How is life on oil rig?

Although workers stays in the middle of the ocean, most accommodation meets 4 or 5 star hotel standards. The food, which is provided to rig workers is usually of high quality and is available at number of different times during the day and night 

There are several leisure activities on oil rigs which are different in the various units. Modern oil rigs have been made more comfortable than before as there are fitness rooms for workout during any spare time.
There are also games you can play with your colleagues as well as the watching of movies or you could simply rest in the room allocated to you. Oil rigs also have smoking zones where smokers are provided with safety matches.

​

.Before applying for a offshore job, first read carefully about what are the positions in various departments in a oil rig.  What kind of job would you like to have and do you have necessary qualification and experience to work in that position.

Remember that oil rig companies are always looking for the best and freshers have to complete apprenticeship.
How to apply for  cruise ship job

What documents and certificates are required?
​

You require all the certificates and testimonials to back your claim of qualification and experience.  Also certificates that you have completed courses are required. They depend upon your position on rig.  

You must be over the age of 18 to work on an oil or gas rig. To work offshore, you must pass an offshore survival and firefighting course, also known as emergency response training, or basic offshore induction and emergency training (BOSIET).
Following are required before you join offshore platform.

1. Survival Course Before being allowed to go offshore, all of you must complete an offshore survival course
  •  Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET).  The BOSIET includes Safety, Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting, First Aid, Helicopter Safety & Escape and Survival at Sea.    Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET) is the refresher certificate.
  • The BOSIET is not sufficient for working in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.  The Norwegian Oil Industry Association (OLF) course is a lot more demanding than that required in the UK.

  • Offshore LetterAnother document which is now important when you travel is correspondence from the Company confirming you are an offshore worker, the date you are travelling and which installation you are travelling to.
